a little bit about me… hmmm, where do I start?
Growing up in a Croatian household has provided me with many insights to textiles. My mother was always a very crafty lady. She is a self-taught seamstress who also knits, crochets, quilts, embroiders, needlepoint and, if I’m not mistaken, has dabbled in some rug hooking some time ago. She has taught me everything I know (in terms of knitting, crochet and sewing, I still have ways to go to get to her level of expertise and achievement), and is an incredible inspiration.
Before her came my Baka (Grandmother) who is the coolest person I know!
This past summer – she taught me how to spin yarn – the old-fashioned way! It was a wonderful birthday present.
During my fourth year at McMaster University I was absorbed by the world of fibre arts. I fell in love with textiles and fibres and the traditions and histories.
I later established “So Sweet” as a label and began designing dolls, purses and accessories. Now I am venturing into different categories of knitting and crochet.
Thanks to my Baka, my Mama and school, I found something that warms my heart and makes me proud to be the creative person I am.

Keep checking in for new projects, and e-mail me anytime at kristina@so-sweet.ca

Happy Knitting!
